2023.06.08 14:52 kmalternative Infinitely more likes when travelling Abroad

I'm a 26M living in a pretty huge and diverse city in North America. I don't think I'm a movie star or anything but I'd like to think I dress well, have a solid job, well taken pics and decently solid athletic build. On Bumble, I will get maybe 10 likes MAX in a span of 2-3 months.
I recently travelled to a major South American city and I kid you not, I received 200+ likes in just 24 hours of being there. And so many of them are absolutely gorgeous model-tier girls (call it bragging if you want but I'm just being honest). I'm just curious as to why the difference would be that ridiculously large. I don't have an "exotic" factor either, as even though I'm technically white, I look more tanned/Latino. Could it be height related? I'm not exactly the tallest guy, about 5'7, but I doubt the impact would be that crazy.

2023.06.08 14:52 wtfixair12 How to Find a Reliable Air Conditioning Installation Contractor

How to Find a Reliable Air Conditioning Installation Contractor
Are you tired of dealing with a malfunctioning air conditioning system? Are you in need of a professional air conditioning installation contractor? Look no further! In this comprehensive guide, we will walk you through the process of finding a reliable air conditioning installation contractor. We understand the importance of a properly functioning air conditioning system, especially during those scorching summer months. Therefore, we will provide you with valuable tips and insights to ensure that you hire a contractor who is experienced, trustworthy, and capable of delivering high-quality work.

The Importance of Hiring a Reliable Air Conditioning Installation Contractor

When it comes to installing an air conditioning system, it's crucial to enlist the services of a reliable contractor. Proper installation plays a significant role in the overall performance and efficiency of your AC unit. An experienced contractor will ensure that your system is correctly sized, installed, and calibrated, maximizing its efficiency and lifespan. Moreover, a reliable contractor will adhere to industry standards and safety protocols, giving you peace of mind knowing that the job is being done right the first time.
Finding a reliable contractor for air conditioning installation in Perth may seem like daunting task, but fear not! We've compiled a list of actionable steps to help you find the perfect contractor for your needs. Follow these guidelines, and you'll be well on your way to enjoying a cool and comfortable indoor environment.

Air Conditioner Installation in Perth
Start with Research
Research is key when it comes to finding a reliable air conditioning installation contractor. Take advantage of the internet and search for local contractors in your area. Check their websites, read customer reviews, and look for testimonials. A contractor with positive reviews and satisfied customers is more likely to provide you with exceptional service.
Ask for Recommendations
Word-of-mouth recommendations can be incredibly valuable in your search for a reliable contractor. Ask your friends, family, and neighbors if they have recently hired an air conditioning installation contractor and inquire about their experiences. Personal recommendations can provide you with insights into the contractor's workmanship, professionalism, and reliability.
Verify Licenses and Certifications
A reliable air conditioning installation contractor should hold the necessary licenses and certifications required by your state or local authorities. These licenses and certifications ensure that the contractor has the knowledge and skills to perform the job safely and effectively. Always ask the contractor to provide proof of their licenses and certifications before hiring them.
Inquire About Warranties
A reliable air conditioning installation contractor will stand behind their work and provide warranties for their services. Inquire about the warranties offered by the contractor and ensure that they cover both labor and parts. A comprehensive warranty will give you peace of mind, knowing that you're protected in case any issues arise with your newly installed system.
Check for Industry Affiliations
Contractors who are affiliated with industry associations demonstrate their commitment to professionalism and continuous learning. Look for contractors who are members of reputable organizations such as the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) or the Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI). These affiliations indicate that the contractor is up-to-date with the latest industry standards and best practices.
Evaluate Customer Service
Excellent customer service is a hallmark of a reliable contractor. Pay attention to how the contractor treats you during the initial consultation. Do they listen to your concerns? Are they willing to address any questions or doubts you may have? A contractor who prioritizes customer satisfaction is more likely to provide you with a positive experience from start to finish.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Q1: How much does air conditioning installation cost?
Air conditioning installation costs can vary depending on several factors, such as the size and complexity of the installation, the type of AC system being installed, and the contractor's pricing. It's best to obtain multiple quotes from different contractors to get a better understanding of the costs involved. Remember, the cheapest option may not always be the best in terms of quality and reliability.
  • Q2: How long does an air conditioning installation take?
The duration of an air conditioning installation can vary depending on the scope of work and the contractor's availability. A simple installation can typically be completed within a day, while more complex installations may take several days. It's important to discuss the timeline with the contractor and ensure that it aligns with your schedule and needs.
  • Q3: What should I do if I'm not satisfied with the installation?
If you're not satisfied with the installation or if you encounter any issues with your newly installed system, it's important to contact the contractor immediately. A reliable contractor will be responsive to your concerns and will take the necessary steps to address any problems. Remember to document any issues and communicate them clearly to the contractor for a prompt resolution.
  • Q4: Should I hire a licensed contractor or a handyman for air conditioning installation?
It's highly recommended to hire a licensed contractor for air conditioning installation. Licensed contractors have the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the job safely and effectively. They are also required to adhere to industry standards and regulations, ensuring that the installation meets the necessary requirements. Hiring a licensed contractor provides you with peace of mind and minimizes the risk of potential issues down the line.

Conclusion

Finding a reliable air conditioning installation contractor doesn't have to be a daunting task. By following the steps outlined in this guide, you can ensure that you hire a contractor who is experienced, trustworthy, and capable of delivering high-quality work. Remember to conduct thorough research, ask for recommendations, and evaluate the contractor's licenses, certifications, and references. Consider factors such as experience, warranties, energy efficiency, and customer service. Trust your instincts and take your time in making the right decision. With the help of a reliable contractor, you'll be able to enjoy a cool and comfortable indoor environment for years to come.

2023.06.08 14:52 Figolas78 New to the hobby

Hello!
I’m a total newby to this and to wargames and minis in general. I’ve been a Tolkien fan for over 30y and have been playing RPGs and TCGs for as long. A friend of mine introduced me recently to the game (he plays 40k and we did a MESBG test game in a GW store) and I have been able to get some old minis from my brother in law, who played a bit when at middle school. I’d love to get really into the game and create at least to armies (good/evil), but I have many questions…
1- What is the general availability of the minis? Our local store doesn’t have many, and the GW site doesn’t look like they have many different models…
2- How much do I have to expend on paint and tools to start?
3- Which tools should I buy (recommended/indispensable)
Thank you for your advice!

2023.06.08 14:52 DawnOfLegion1 Chemistry in wrestling: Daniel Bryan vs Bray Wyatt

For a feud that was thrown-together without a plan, these two men absolutely killed it on all fronts. Initially, Bray wanted Bryan to join him and his Family, because he saw him as an equal in some way. Bryan refused, so he enlisted the help of long-time frienemy CM Punk to combat Harper and Rowan. Unfortunately, Punk had his own battles to fight against The Authority, so Bryan was left all alone. All alone to fight the evil backwoods cult, who apparently don't want to hurt him, but because Bryan refuses to fall in line, they have to. "Hurt Bryan badly until the suffering becomes unbearable."
You'd think that Bryan and Bray had nothing in common as characters, but that's not true. Both rejected for who they were - Bryan for being an indy midget, Bray for formerly being a loser in Nexus named Husky. Both ridiculed for their "unconventional", not-cosmetically pleasing enough looks. Both shut down for establishing a connection with the people - Bryan for being a lovable underdog that happens to be awesome at his job, Bray for being an eccentric yet tragic leader of the outcasts. Both seen as nothing more than B+ at best, so their paths crossing, in and out of kayfabe, was an opportunity to prove themselves.
Then Royal Rumble came, and the two put on such an awesome match, a match that most people (if they were being honest) didn't expect. The big guy-little guy dynamic is usually a formula for success, but in this case, emotions played a bigger part rather than merely a stout swamp monster beating up a little lumberjack man. Bray wanted Bryan "to come home", but he had to beat the idea of being somewhere or someone else out of him. A Sister Abigail combo sealed the deal, Bryan's evil soulmate topped him. Perhaps Bray was right all along..
Bryan had no choice anymore. Beating after beating, setback after setback, he needed to make a change. Bryan finally caved in, and admitted to Bray he was wrong, joining The Wyatt Family, but not before experiencing Abigail's kiss once more. To nobody's surprise, Bryan fit The Family like a glove, both attitude-wise and aesthetically. Harper and Rowan seemed indifferent, but Bray wasn't acting that way. As mentioned previously, Bryan was his equal, so he treated him as such. However, Bryan's companionship brought The Family nothing but losses and misery, so Bray, as the leader, had to react. Perhaps Bray was wrong, and Bryan wasn't his equal. Perhaps he was all-hype.
Then, in one of the best swerves and angles in Raw history, Bryan had to get on his knees and offer himself up as sacrifice for his failures. Bray, frustrated and angry that Bryan is not complying, finally breaks his mask and lets us know the truth - he never cared about Bryan, all he wanted was another mule. This mule however was a little smarter than that, and Bryan's fury commenced. Kicks, forearms, dropkicks, Bryan smashes Bray while being trapped inside of a cage with him. Poetic justice, because Bryan must have felt trapped by The Family's advances ever since they began, but now, while inside of a steel demonic structure, ironically enough Bryan felt free.
Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt never had their true conclusion, as the turn and embrace of the fans spelled the end of their story for quite a while, because Bryan has another destiny to fulfill. Years later, in another chef's kiss moment, Bray was the one who helped Bryan go back to who he was - a head smashing man of the people, in a moment that Bray caused involuntarily. At their second Royal Rumble encounter, yet another classic occurred, and yet again, Bray stood tall. In a way, this feud was almost our generation's Raven vs Dreamer - Bray always overcame Bryan, because Bryan never played the game and sunk to Bray's levels just to beat him. However, despite never beating Bray in a wrestling match, both times Bryan won something more important - the love of the people. In the ring, Bray might have proved he was Bryan's superior, but as a man, Bryan proved he was always something Bray wanted to be. Something he could never be - the people's choice.

JUN 08, 2023 CNC.V CANADA NICKEL ANNOUNCES CARBON STORAGE TESTING RESULTS BETTER THAN ANTICIPATED; INTEGRATED FEASIBILITY STUDY EXPECTED IN SEPTEMBER

Highlights
  • Carbon capture test work confirms ability to store one million tonnes of carbon annually
  • Crawford Project has potential to achieve 7% of Canada's 15 megatonne carbon removal goal
  • Canada Nickel has received approaches from several large multinational companies seeking carbon storage solutions
TORONTO , June 8, 2023 /CNW/ - Canada Nickel Company Inc. ("Canada Nickel" or the "Company") (TSXV: CNC) (OTCQX: CNIKF) today announced that test work for its novel carbon storage process, In-Process Tailings ("IPT") Carbonation, is demonstrating results that are significantly above expectations.
https://preview.redd.it/25hjxwbnjs4b1.jpg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e1ad3a4f0d5521908d2d07e22d6f4527d7b0dda
The Company also announced that its Integrated Feasibility Study ("IFS") is expected to be released in September, following the completion of final engineering design for IPT Carbonation. All other engineering work for the Crawford feasibility study has been successfully completed.
Mark Selby , CEO of Canada Nickel, said, "We believe the IPT Carbonation process has transformative potential for the Company. Our test work demonstrates the ability to efficiently store one million tonnes of CO 2 annually when the project is fully ramped up utilizing a process plant design of only 6.5 hours of residence time versus an initial design target of 12-24 hours. These results can help contribute to delivering this solution at relatively low capital and operating costs."
Canada Nickel's Crawford Project is hosted in ultramafic rock, which naturally absorbs and sequesters CO 2 2 into tailings generated by the milling process for a brief period of time. This simple process captures CO 2 geologically in the tailings while they are still in the processing circuit, rather than after they have been finally deposited.

"Crawford is poised to be a leader in the energy transition through the large-scale production of critical minerals, including nickel and cobalt, and to become the sole North American producer of chromium, while also supporting Canada's climate objectives through large scale carbon capture and storage and providing an anchor for a Zero Carbon Industrial Cluster in the Timmins

Cochrane region," Selby added.
Access to the required testing facilities for pilot scale tests to confirm the engineering design for IPT Carbonation has been delayed to this summer and as a result, the integrated feasibility study for the project is now expected to be delivered in September 2023
"We are very pleased to reach successful completion of the remainder of the engineering for the Crawford project. Our decision to incorporate our IPT Carbonation into an integrated feasibility study has been validated by the multiple approaches we've received from multinationals pursuing comprehensive carbon solutions. I am very proud of our team that is taking our IPT Carbonation process from breakthrough to a feasibility study engineered design in just 14 months."
The Company believes that the successful incorporation of IPT Carbonation could potentially allow a portion of the Company's project capital expenditures to become eligible for the carbon capture and storage refundable investment tax credits of 37.5% to 60% for years 2022-2030 and 18.75% to 30% for years 2031-2040, as announced in the 2022 federal budget. The interest received from multiple large multinational companies pursuing carbon storage solutions further supports the Company's belief that the mineral sequestration utilized by the Company may be considered an effective carbon storage approach that would meet Environment and Climate Change Canada requirements.
"Canada Nickel has generated significant momentum in 2023 with the strategic investment by Anglo American , our successful completion of the first phase of federal permitting for Crawford, our appointment of Cutfield Freeman & Co. to support the debt portion of our project financing team alongside our equity advisors, Scotiabank and Deutsche Bank, and our ongoing success in our regional exploration program. We expect this momentum to continue through the rest of the year with the completion of the integrated feasibility study, our initial resource estimate and Preliminary Economic Analysis for potential near-term production at our Texmont Project, and advancing both the permitting and financing to allow a construction decision to be made for Crawford by mid-2025, when permits are expected to be received," said Selby.
IPT Carbonation Test Work
In the current phase of test work, Canada Nickel has conducted a series of variability tests to establish the IPT Carbonation Process engineering design criteria and develop predictive CO 2 storage models. The results have exceeded expectations. Testing was done on samples based on their brucite content as well as their location within the deposit with a bias towards material that is expected to be processed in the initial project phases. The results received to date have confirmed the ability to store more than one million tonnes of CO 2 per year.

2023.06.08 14:51 xMarvs My Path as a Registered Electrical Engineer Professional Part 2

I submitted my resignation letter a week after I received my 13th month. I am yet to find a job. I have been applying from various company during my resignation period. A gentle advise, do not resign without receiving any offer from other company. I guess, I was too confident during that time that I can land a job. Too risky.
I got two interviews from Korean Company who handles the Testing and Commissioning (T&C) works during the construction phase of a Coal-Fired Power Plant in Toledo City (2-3hrs away from Cebu City). The other company is an International Property Management Company. I passed both interviews. Honestly, I prefer the Property Management Company since I will be assigned within Ayala Business Park which is 5 mins away from our existing boarding house.
Two weeks after, I received an offer from Korean Company, around 22k. Considering that I don't have a job, I grabbed the opportunity. A week passed working in Power Plant, I received a call from Property Management Company and they offered me 25k for a Building Engineer position. I immediately accepted it considering the location and the pay.
So this commercial building (mid-rise) in Ayala where I work is currently on a construction phase. To give you an idea, Property Management manages the building in terms of security, housekeeping, engineering maintenance, admin works and customer service. I am directly reporting to a Property Manager. So I handle engineering, I have two (2) Multi-skilled Technician during that time.
Since the building still under construction, we focused on the testing and commissioning of equipment. I have gained so much knowledge in various equipment operation such as: VRF, Generator, FDAS, Fire and Jockey Pumps, Constant Water System, PA/BGM, Elevators, Door Access Control, Transformer, ATS, LVSG, BMS and many more. I am also reading and reviewing all as-builts plans during that time. Eager to learn. The secret is, I always asked the contractors in a nicely manner on how these equipment works and operate.
Whenever the client ask how this certain equipment works and purpose. I was the one answering on behalf of my Boss. This was the time they saw a potential in me. Six months after, I was promoted to Property Manager position and was assigned to another building. All hard work paid off.
Part 3 is my journey as a Property Manager.

2023.06.08 14:51 WhitehatDouglas Make Independence Day Count: BOYCOTT INSTACART ON THE 4th OF JULY!

If you stop the shop for merely one full day, the company's exploitation will cease as their profits are diminished. The photo you see does not lie - it tells the full story of a Shoppers discontent at the hands of a company that will stop at nothing to put a stronghold on the Working Class by providing a lackluster service to the customer through expectations on Shoppers which cannot be fulfilled.

You see the hulking cases of water there which could not fit in my SUV and I demanded Instacart cancel half of that order accordingly. You will get orders such as that on Independence day. Yet, the compensation will not be adequate. Celebrate independence day with the spirit of rebellion it brings. Create independence for yourself and support the wage of the working man or woman! STOP THE SHOP NOW!

2023.06.08 14:50 Different-Feeling-36 I am the last choice for everyone

Nobody ever texts me unless I text them first, even when I text them they sometimes not reply me, my parents constantly blame me for not having friends. My father only cares about his job, my mother only speaks to me when she has nobody else to speak to, my brother is too popular in school to care about me. Tried therapy and the therapist could not care less about me. I really hope I can end it.

2023.06.08 14:50 idontknowhim8999 Should I ask her if she would still date me if I didn't have a car?

So I kinda asked this already but here's more detail. This girl who I've(23M) known wants to date me. She's always known me to have a car and a job since I was 16 but very recently my car got wrecked. I didn't tell her it was wrecked, I just told her my car is in the shop and asked her to pick me up after she suggested we hang out. She said never mind because she wasn't feeling good and suggested next weekend instead. She went on Facebook saying she won't date a guy without a car or no "motion" because she's supposed to be the passenger princess, not him. Last night she said she's feeling better let's hang out this weekend. I'm getting a rental car through my insurance today so I offered to meet somewhere or pick her up. She wants me to pick her up. That's cool, but It's like she thought I didn't have a car at all or was a bum or something just because I didn't have a car for a couple days. Should I tell her I was in a wreck and ask her if she would pick me up if I still didn't have a car for a couple more days? I just want to see how shallow she really is. I wouldn't seriously date a girl without a car either UNLESS it was a case like mine where I know it's in the shop or I know she'll have one soon.

2023.06.08 14:49 Many_Wasabi_5643 I'm 33 F and my boyfriend 37 M ghosted my birthday

So I'm a 33F (my bday is today!) And I've been dating a 37 yo M for almost 11 years now. I want to preface this by saying we've had some amazing times and I truly love him. No we are not married, we used to live together but not anymore. Our relationship is not very conventional. He is Half Yemini, half Mexican, has strict Muslim family on one side and Jehovahs witness on the other.( I have NOTHING against either of these religions its just unusual combo)It gets intense. He has many family obligations, (including a daughter oversees in Yemen he had when he was 16) he periodically travels to Yemen for months at a time with basically zero contact. He thinks this is totally normal to not talk for up to 5 mo) Over the years I have voiced a want to be closer like we used to be. He literally will say "ya babe me too" but nothing comes of it. Things have gotten pretty contentious. He moved his daughter here, and said when I introduce you to her, im going to say your my "Friend" then if she likes you we will go from there. That hurt me, I figured he had mentioned me, as we dated 11 years. (Shes over 18 at this point) i am totallt clueless how to navigate this. This started a huge argument and he basically has been pulling away from me this entire tear, he quit his job, moved in with his mother (8 hours away from me) and barely speaks to me. Last time I saw him was May 4th for 3 days. He says hes "taking care of his daughter" and she doesnt speak English i should understand. This past 2 months he's been straight up ignoring me, saying "i kno i kno im sorry""I'm just spending time with my daughter and mom" never will pick up not ONE of my calls. Then text "sorry babe" the next day. The breaking point for me was when I was in the hospital and he wouldn't answer and never call back. Fast forward to today--- it's my birthday. We had plans for him to drive up here and see me. We got into a HUGE argument, yesterday as I've been feeling straight up abandoned, and emotional and he turned his phone off for the entire day, and never showed. It's been almost two days, his phone is still off and today is my Birthday. I've been desperately trying to call-- phone is off. I know all of this might seem obvious to people who are not in this relationship but I can't help but feel devastated. We used to be so close and I feel so alone. Am I an absolute idiot for holding on to this?!?

2023.06.08 14:49 hmphel95 I was deciding between two programs MSBA or an MBA w a focus in business analytics

I decided on the MSBA. Its roughly 30k. I’m prepared to go back to school regardless. I took a year off to decide what I wanted to do. I kept bouncing between analytics and something in health care. At this point I just need a job. I’ve always been good with numbers and statistics so I thought this was a good fit.
My big question is- will getting a masters in this field help with job security when I’m done? My biggest fear is to spend the money and end up with no job and be right where I am. That’s literally the sole reason I have any thoughts of healthcare is the job security. I know they’re polar opposites but I’m 28 and kind of freaking out that I’ve still yet to find a career.

2023.06.08 14:48 Freemind62 HP thermal printer

Managed to get a HP82240B IR thermal printer. It’s a neat portable printer that’s comparable with a range of HP calcs from the mid 80s onward.
What’s good is that because it’s infrared you don’t need to bother with cables or connectors.
I’m feeling lucky that I could get one for a good price that included the box, and manual. Though it really couldn’t be easier to use :)
Next in line is getting some more thermal rolls and an AC adapter.

2023.06.08 14:48 SnooTomatoes1428 Which loans to pay off first?

I have some car loans (interest rate in the low 5%), and almost the same amount in student loans (federal loan rates, so 6%+). I'm about to get some cash to pay off one of these loans - does it matter from a credit score or personal finance perspective whether I pay off one completely first or pay down both but keep both to continue revolving payments? No penalty for early pay-off. Car loans have lower interest rate, but the student loans could benefit from a program if I switch to a public sector job at some point.

2023.06.08 14:48 throwthebeingaway How do you communicate when you’re not getting credit for work?

Im a Junior Consultant. A colleague and I got staffed on a proposal Wednesday afternoon. Proposal is for this afternoon, so less than a day prep.
We got briefed and split the tasks. I stayed longer, until 11PM and made almost all slides while he wanted to pick up tomorrow because I’m off that day. I checked my mails to see if they handed in it and just saw that he shared the proposal with the senior colleagues and our boss stating he worked on it on his own.
I feel extremely disrespected. I put in so much effort in general and normally get credit etc - this came out of nowhere and I don’t know what to do. I cannot go to my boss and whine about it I think. Any advice?
Im also currently really unhappy at my job because it’s long hours and little “highlights” (at job and in life) so I feel I’m too emotional right now.
