Budget= 33% needs, 24% wants, and 43% between investing and savings. (Base salary only)

In redoing my extensive custom Linkin Park collection, I've decided to post about them in groups of 10 to 12 albums, as I complete them. This is the fifth of seven such posts. This batch of albums consists of 10, and covers the The Hunting Party Era, High Rise, the One More Light Era, and Post Traumatic.
The albums in my custom collections are designed to have seamless transitions between all tracks on albums, and a consistent number of tracks per album (16 tracks in the case of Linkin Park, but sometimes 20 or even 24 tracks when most of the tracks are really short and there are many of them). These albums are also intended to be as complete as possibly, excluding only tracks that are redundant, or have been deemed... unworthy. These albums are primarily intended for my spouse and I to listen to (hence the exclusion of a few tracks that we find hard to listen to), but I also love sharing them with others.

2023.05.15 19:10 _SeaOttrs How many housewives were actually married when they started? Which franchise has the most successful marriages? Most divorces? I did a deep dive and have the answers!

Hi housewives fans! As a watcher of many of the franchises, I was curious to see the data on the successes of marriages of all the housewives that come on the show. How many housewives per franchise were married when they premiered? How many of those are still married to the husband they premiered with? Which franchise has the most successful marriages? The most divorces?
So, I did a deep dive and created a spreadsheet (color coordinated!) listing out the following details of each housewife in each franchise:

Which seasons they were on;
Marriage status when they premiered on the show - single, engaged, or married. If engaged or married, who their partnespouse was;
Years they were married and/or if still married, what year they got (re)married; and
Current status of marriage - if they were married, the outcome of that marriage and their current marital status with spouse.

For the current status of marriage, I wanted to capture how each housewife's relationship status has changed since they premiered on the show. My general categories were Still Married, Divorced on show, Divorced after leaving the show, and Married on the show. Each category has exceptions though (cause these bitches are messy) such as Still Married - Separated/Divorcing, and Married on show - Still Married/Divorced on show/Divorced after show.
First up are the results of my findings over all of the franchises. Below that are the breakdowns of each franchise with numbers and information of all the housewives on that franchise. Note: I only included seasons where each one was a full-time cast member. If they were a friend-of or a guest for a season, they are not included. (Looking at you, LuAnn de Lesseps and Taylor Armstrong.)
So, are you ready to see which franchise wins for the most successful marriages? Which one results in the most divorces? Here you go!
Note: I did map out RHODubai but they've only been on for one season and they're all still married, so I haven't included that data in the overall breakdown.
Results:
Franchise with the most housewives married when they started the show: It is a three-way tie between Real Housewives of Dallas, DC, and Salt Lake City - all but one of the housewives were married when they started!
Franchise with the most housewives married to the same husband that they were when they started on the show: It's a tie between Real Housewives of Dallas and Salt Lake City. Even though this is a tie, it's mainly because SLC is so new that there haven't been any major relationship changes yet. We'll see what happens with Jen Shah though...yikes. Dallas has been off the air for a couple of years and started earlier, so I'd say Dallas wins this one.
Franchise with the most divorces that occurred on the show: Real Housewives of Atlanta - 4/9 (44%)
Franchise with the most divorces that occurred after the show: Real Housewives of DC - 4/4 (100%)
Longest lasting marriage: RHOBH: Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd - 1982+
Real Housewives of Orange County - 17 Seasons: 2006 - Present
Statistics:

26 total cast members
21/26 (81%) were married when they started on the show
10/21 (48%) are still married to their husband at start
2/10 (20%) are separated from their husband at start
8/21 (38%) divorced while on the show
3/21 (14%) divorced after they left the show
1/26 (5%) got married on the show

Longest Marriage:
Peggy Sulahian* has been with her husband Diko the longest - since 1995. The second longest couple is Heather and Terry Dubrow, since 1999.
Notable "Complicated" Relationships:

* Peggy Sulahian married her husband Diko in 1995 but divorced in 1996, yet they have remained together until this day. I have considered her married.
** Braunwyn Windham-Burke is so complicated I don't even understand it. I also stopped watching RHOC before she came on, so I don't know her whole background. As far as I know/can tell, she's still married to her husband Shane, but they're either separated or in an open relationship, I'm not sure which. She's also "married" to her new partner Jennifer Spinner.
Jeana Keough was married to her husband Matt until 2007. They separated and later divorced but continued living together for a while. Matt died in 2020. (Thanks for the correction u/aeroluv327!)

Bethenny Frankel was divorced before she started the show and single when she started. She married Jason Hoppy after leaving Housewives (but with her own spinoff) and filed for divorce before coming back in season 7. However, her divorce was not finalized until after she left Housewives for good.
Countess Luann de Lesseps was married to Alexandre when she started the show and got divorced later on. She then remarried on the show, then divorced again.

Notable "Complicated" Relationships:

Nene Leakes was married to Gregg Leakes from 1997 - 2011 until they divorced for two years. They reconciled and remarried in 2013 and remained so until Gregg's passing in 2021.
* Cynthia Bailey married Peter Thomas on the show and were married for seven years. They divorced while she was still on the show. She then got married to Mike Hill on the show. She and Mike are now separated/divorcing.
Kim Zolciak-Biermann is separated from Kroy Biermann after 12 years of marriage and are heading for divorce.

2023.05.13 00:34 That_Juggernaut4820 Why was Kelly McGillis ignored in the flashback sequence of Top Gun: Maverick (2022)?

I know that she wasn't asked to reprise her role. But even if the producers were not interested in Charlie (her character) being a part of Too Gun: Maverick, why did they deliberately avoid showing her face in the flashback sequence? In that flashback, the characters are singing next to a jukebox and you can clearly see Meg Ryan's face on a close-up. In the original film, Meg Ryan played a small role and Kelly McGillis played the lead female role. I watched both movies on the same day and for me it was glaringly obvious that they did not want Charlie/Kelly McGillis to be visible. It would have been so easy to just show the frame in which Charlie is singing next to them. To be honest it feels disrespectful to McGillis and fans of the original film.
If I remember correctly, there was also no mention of her character which is weird considering how important she was for Maverick. It's like the producers made everything in their power to try and make everyone forget about Charlie. It's the equivalent of making a Spider-Man sequel without Zendaya and avoid showing her face on a flashback/archive footage...

I know I keep coming back to that SCENE, but hear me out for a second.

In the abandon warehouse that Kaneki and Touka took refuge, pressure has built up on Kaneki shoulders of what Touka did for him- saved him. He took off his one-eyed mask in frustration and throws is in the ground, getting Touka's attention. He even points at her.
"JESUS CHRIST, TOUKA-CHAN!!! AND YOU THINK I'M INSANE? WELL, I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT IN THE COUNTER GHOUL CLUB, MY MEN AND MY STUDENTS COME FIRST!"
Touka, now operating the same brain waves as him, berates back right him head to head like the the first day they met.
"WELL I'LL TELL YOU WHAT BAKA! WHAT I WAS GONNA SAY BEFORE WE GOT INTO THAT SHITHOLE OF AN AMBUSH IS THAT I WAS RIGHT AND YOU WERE WRONG ABOUT GOING IN THEIR!"
Kaneki knew deep down that she was right but couldn't help that he wanted her not to be part of the madness that nearly got both of them killed.
"Is that right?" He asks.
"That's right," Touka answered. "I know it's your 'destiny' to do something great, but I held something back. I was afraid that everyone back there would not only see through me but also you. And I just don't want anyone to know we've fallen for each other."
And just like that the world stopped. Kaneki couldn't believe what she just said, but also deep down he knows that he loves her. He just didn't have the courage to say it. But Touka did.
Then all of a sudden, it's like Berlin's Take My Breath Away from Top Gun started playing in the air around them. They were like Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis in the romance scene before Hop 19.
"Touka... I..." Kaneki didn't know how to respond but subconsciously both of them touched each others hand and linked them together.
And they slowly close in on each other, closing the gap between them as their lips touch one another, marking an evolved relationship between one another.

And you know how the scene goes.

Just "Conquered" my "Fear" over this scene by watching the clip on Instagram by a dedicated Eremika shipper (of course one of the would ship another which is nothing wrong BTW) and as I watched it for the first time while listening to Motorhead's Overkill Wacken 2006 to ease the senses. Then something came to me. It was eerily similar, but all of it-of course not, to the Top Gun counterpart.
Think about it. The lighting, the atmosphere, the way the music's going. The pacing. The way it goes from night to morning. You get the picture.
And even though the animated scene is way different than the manga counterpart, it appears that the animators wanted to take a safe approach that fans and newcomers would watch and give a Hollywood '80s feeling. It makes sense since the manga version is basically "NIN 'Closer' graphic" and would probably be criticized for it.
Do you think of the same about this? Would this make Goose roll in his grave?

2010 GTI manual transmission shit the bed at 178k miles. Well maintained but threw a rod. Kelly blue book says she’s worth $3k, but similar models selling for $8-9K online. Used engines with 100k+ miles are $1800-3500 online with 5 yr warranty. Will find out labor costs on engine swap tomorrow.
Is it worth it or should we sell as tow away/scrap and use the money for something different. Problem is the used car market is very inflated. I don’t think we can find a comparable used car for less than $5k. Spouse says the car has been nothing but trouble and to cut the losses. I feel historical repairs were typical wear and tear issues (CV joint, ball bearing, oil control valve).
Thoughts?

So in redoing my extensive custom Linkin Park collection, I've decided to post about them in groups of 10 to 12 albums, as I complete them. This is the first of seven such posts. The first batch of albums consists of 12, and covers 90s Grey Daze, Xero, and the Hybrid Theory Era (including the EP, album, and Reanimation).
The albums in my custom collections are designed to have seamless transitions between all tracks on albums, and a consistent number of tracks per album (16 tracks in the case of Linkin Park, but sometimes 20 or even 24 tracks when most of the tracks are really short and there are many of them). These albums are also intended to be as complete as possibly, excluding only tracks that are redundant, or have been deemed... unworthy. These albums are primarily intended for my spouse and I to listen to (hence the exclusion of a few tracks that we find hard to listen to), but I also love sharing them with others.
