So my parents finally had a divorce in 2020. I say "finally" because I saw it coming and honestly wanted them to. They have been fighting for years and other problems made me just want them to get a divorce because the tension was horrible.
They got a divorce because my dad fucked up, but my mom was the one to move out. For years now my mom has told me that if they ever got a divorce she would take me and my brother and we would live happily alone. But because she already found a new partner while the divorce was still in motion, me and my brother did not want to go live with her because she promised it would only be the three of us. It's childish, I know, but me and my brother have been through a lot.
So me and my brother live with my dad now and it's fucking awful. Even though my dad messed everything up he pretends to be the victim. He acts like we have to pity him. He has always had an alcohol problem but ever since the divorce it got worse. He would always say "your mother did this to me". My dad stopped receiving a bonus at work because he's been slacking off and we spiraled down a financial disaster. He actually quit his job a month ago, making me even more worried about our financial situation.
My mom has always done the cooking and cleaning around the house so when she left I had to take over. I taught myself how to do the laundry and I had experience doing the dishes but never liked doing it because it's gross. My cooking was sometimes good but ive never made something disgusting. I always made sure my brother had clean clothes to wear to school and I would even spend the little money I had to buy something if we really needed it. Where I always spent my money for pleasure I now have to use it like an adult.
So, about my dad... Yeah he's acting like the victim but he also acts in charge, and I mean he felt like he was the boss of EVERYTHING. We had to ask permission for things that didn't need permission. We weren't allowed to do the dishes. He would tell us to leave the dishes because he said he would do it. And because we were scared of him, we listened. The dishes would just pile up for days and when I decide I'd had enough I would do the dishes, only to get yelled at afterwards. Other chores and activities would have the same outcome.
We weren't allowed to be sad. If we had a bad day at school and just wanted to stay in our room and be upset, he would for some reason always accuse my mom for being the reason for all sadness. If we had a disagreement about something he would always say "Why don't you go live with your mother!" "Why am I the bad guy?" It's exhausting.
My dad obviously has a smoking and drinking problem. My mom was strict about the smell of smoke in the house but after she left, my dad didn't care and would smoke indoors and his room was full of askes. A teacher even asked me one day if I was smoking because I came to school smelling like smoke. My dad could easily drink 1.5 litres of alcohol everyday. He would start drinking early in the morning untill he went to sleep so he's never sober. It made me and my brother not want to hang out with him, which made my dad mad.
My dad was emotionally abusive. He never physically hurt us, but his words has a huge impact on us. My dad is the cause of our trust issues, our paranoia, and our insecurities.
We are not allowed to make jokes. We are not allowed to have friends over. We are not allowed to go out with friends. We are not allowed to take part in school activities. We are not allowed to be children. We are not allowed to talk seriously with him. We are not allowed to have problems.
I hate my dad, and I'm sure he hates us as well.
I just finished highschool, so you might think I can finally start my own life, but no, I'm not allowed to leave. I'm not allowed to go to uni. I'm not allowed to get a driver's license.

I’ve had four dreams this month where I am taking care of a tiny baby (often times my nephew). He is always about palm size, some times really crinkled and I’m extremely worried about crushing him. When they were engaged she would tell him maybe next year or maybe 10 years from now or never. The last 2 years of their relationship if he walked into the room, she would walk out of it. She would grab him by the hair and pull it when she would get mad and yell at him. She broke up with him because he wanted kids and gave him half an hour to pack up his stuff and leave the apartment he paid for. Over the course of the next 2 months, they met up a couple of more times to make sure she wanted to end their relationship and she did. She went from yelling at him to confessing her love and threw stuffed animals at him. She showed him the scars on her arms from months ago and blamed him for not being there (even though she broke up with him and some of her family died afterwards). She gave him his stuff back but then requested it all back the next day.
She went to his moms house to talk to her and asked to meet up with him again. She started to yell at him in the restaurant so they went to the car to talk because he kept telling her they would not be together and did not work together. In the car she hit him and told him she didn’t have motivation anymore and tried to walk in the street. She was placed in a psych ward for observation and the whole time just called him for hours and yelled at him. Since then she has repeatedly said if he stays with me, whatever happens to her will be his fault. She goes from texting him that she misses him and now wants kids to blaming him for everything. She showed up at our apartment and refused to leave until he saw her. She sent him a photo of her cuts but refused to tell him if she was safe. There’s more but there’s a word count.
It’s been 2 months of this cycle that if he doesn’t respond to her, she has upped her antics. He has tried involving her parents and she refuses to get help. He has met up with her in public and private and she acts the same in both. Honestly how should I handle this situation and how should he? How can I get him to see he shouldn’t feel guilty? Looking to see if anyone had this problem with their 06 non-s R50 mini coopers cooling system.
Changed the plastic heater coupling in the rear due to it leaking from a small crack. The lower hose from the firewall is going to the lower double coupler fitting and the upper hose from the firewall is going to the upper double coupler fitting. Not sure if this is correct as I just bought the car. I could be wrong.
Changed out the thermostat, changed out the low speed fan resistor pack in the radiator shroud housing. Checked the fan relays next to the battery box and the 50A fuse. Both speed for the fan does come on but it seems rather late.
Main problem is car is overheating at idle, both low speed and high speed fan setting does come on possibly (thinking it kind of comes on late?) but runs hot at idle pushing 250 deg F almost max on the center console gauge. Over temp warning light comes on at about 250, and I have to shut the vehicle off and let the fan run till it cools down.
I checked for leaks, none, refilled the system by manual and purged out the lower double coupler (heater). Purged out the front left upper hose over the alternator, purged out the little 8mm screw in the front driver corner of the head for air bubbles.
Compression test across the board is at 135 PSI.
Car still overheats, idles and seems to run fine other than it overheating. Any help would be appreciated. The only thing I can think of maybe blockage in radiator or coolant temp sensor change next?!

I’m on a study abroad trip right now, and I know one of the members has bpd, Im not sure if I was supposed to hear it, but she said it in public right in front of me. As someone with trauma related to a mother with bpd, and watching my dad try his best to stay with her, it freaked me out to hear that. I’ve been trying to keep my distance while still being polite. My birthday recently came and went, and with that, I got a good chunk of change that I have decided to spend on my PC set up. I have about $1-1.2k to upgrade, but can go a little over if needed. But there are several things that I am looking to add to my set up, so I am looking for guidance on where is best to spend that money. I stream on twitch, so some of that money is going to a new DSLR camera and an Elgato cam link, which leaves me with about $500-$700 to upgrade my actual PC.

I'm pretty happy with my GPU to be honest, as I don't play super graphically intensive games on my PC. I mostly play Sims 4, Overwatch 2, and Minecraft. So I am thinking I would be best off upgrading my CPU. I am fine with either Intel, or AMD, but I am not sure which is going to give me the best bang for my buck. To be honest, I don't truly understand what to look for with a CPU. I would assume that more cores and threads are better, but is the clock speed more important than those? Also, I think I will need to upgrade my cooler, as I have the standard, in box AMD cooler currently. Also, with my motherboard being so old, I think it might be worth while to finally upgrade that.
Most components in my PC are at least 5 years old, as it belonged to my husband before I built him a new PC after adopting his (lol).
So, what are you recommendations? Also, if someone could explain what to look for in a CPU, that would be awesome! I know sometime in the near future, I will be upgrading my husband's PC as well, and I am the more knowledgeable of the two of us. His brother built his original PC, so my husband will be no help picking components lol.

So I started seeing a 37 year old woman off a dating site being 24 years old myself. I was just curious in the beginning, to see how it would go and I'd never gone on a date with an older woman. And I guess I was looking for sex , but it was not the only thing I was looking for. So ,the first date went pretty good. Second date went good as well. She had a high income lifestyle and I was a broke student, which she was fine with. The third date she decided to take me on a trip. So basically she started taking me on trips where I paid only for the food and stuff. But I lost my part time job and told her we should stop the trips because I couldn't afford these additional expenses. She was fine with that as well. We both would have the best intimate hangouts and I could just stare at her for hours on end. I loved everything about her, her spirit, her small tics, her smile, everything. She started discussing how we could make it long term and I started believing that. I just ignored our age difference and put all my effort into emotional bonding with her.
As I started falling for her, she started increasing her expectations and changing her behavior. She started demanding to put effort into the relationship on top of the maximum I was putting in. Slowly her expectations started to rise. Arguing about the smallest stuff such as my driving habits and if I couldn't pay for some expensive purchases. That I should show grand gestures which were infeasible for me at the time. I also messed up by not fully realizing some of the problems she was having in managing time to see me. I was working on resolving those issues. She took me to meet her kids and family and I still was not able to see how this relationship was unfeasible. Blinded by love. I genuinely couldn't see beauty in any other woman except her. The problems started increasing in frequency, and she started showing her ego, snide insults and attempts at using my emotional dependency on her to change parts of my behaviour. She reduced her affection towards me as I attempted to resolve all the issues without throwing away my self esteem. She didn't text back for hours and would blame it on me that she was really busy. She was not really intimate with me anymore. It finally came to a head and she dumped me after 6 months of dating.
Three days of intense emotional trauma. I couldn't stand the pain.She would message me after the breakup and I would get my hopes up about rekindling our relationship and then she would act distant again. Since we were planning to be friends, I needed advice about an important issue. She called me without notice to discuss that and hinted angrily at some issues we had. I couldn't help but think that she still had feelings for me. I called her trying to ask if she wanted to make up, but she behaved as if I was the only one who was missing her and she was fine without me. I finally decided to cut the hope cord. She's not getting back with me anymore. Been two days since and I feel loads better. I don't see her pics and try to avoid any triggers. I still have a sliver of hope that she wants me back but I ignore it to prevent me from going insane.
I still miss her from time to time in small pangs of pain and hope to find someone as beautiful and strong as her. I knew the relationship was infeasible, but people underestimate how strong the heart is over the brain. I would've married her if she'd asked in half a year or so. It was still a great feeling and Im still friends with her. I think I'm on track to get over her, but won't be able to find anyone like her ever. I did mess up with some stuff, but i can't change that no matter how hard I want to and just hope I don't repeat the same mistakes. As my love starts to wear off, I realized that there was some insulting and abusive behavior towards me which I was too infatuated to see. I just hope I can make it thorough each day with the pangs of pain constantly in my mind. I still have feelings for her and I hope to smother them in the coming weeks.

Basically the title. One part of English that I never really practiced is being fluent in spelling and understanding what others are spelling out. New construction, 1 year old. Sliding glass door closes and works fine. The sliding screen door hits the glass door when trying to close and also hits in the front where it’s suppose to connect as if it’s not lined up properly. It’s hit or miss, but mostly miss. You have to push or pull and bend the screen essentially to get it to close by lining it up.
They have come out numerous times to try and fix it. Replaced the screen door 6x now. Took the whole door frame out, looked at the structure, filed it down, etc. still no resolution. This has been going on since august, long long email trail.
The builder put in 8ft I believe doors (they say taller than the norm) and they are basically saying due to the height and the “flimsy” screen doors, it just naturally bows because they are so tall which causes it to hit and make a clanking sound and honestly makes it a process to close because you have to push the screen out a bit, line it up properly, etc.
They are saying with anything in a build, there is always a leeway area of expectations to not be “perfect.”
Are they right? I have been polite and worked with them since august now. Do I have a leg to have another company eval it, and if they can, fix it with a better stronger door and ask the builder to pay or take to small claims court?

I'm a moroccan 14 year old and this school year im having a Jihawi test. For the uninformed, jihawi/watani is a test taken at the end of the school where it's just all tye lessons you've learned in only the 2nd semester
Yesterday I asked my dad if I can stop going to school bc we finished the program, and I want to stay so that I can revise Islam ed. This morning, I studied for 3 hrs. Problems is, I procrastinated in the majority of them. I have 5 history lessons left and I only learned one (keep in mind: we have 17 lessons on history geo alone. I learned them all but the 5 last ones)
After lunch, I took a break and went on my phone. Mu dad walked in to my room, asked me what I revised and said to stop using the phone. I was mad bc the whole morning I didn't use my phone and tried so hard to revise but majorly procrasinated
I have the test next week on thursday I have 4 lessons left on history and everything is Islam ed. I'm fucked and I know it
I feel bad now and hate myself for not taking this whole thing seriously. I'm so stressed and the only way I can relax is by going on my phone and watching tokio hotel TV lmao
What should I feel or do? I'm scared for this test, so scared, and I'm mad at myself for not being able to finish revising

I feel like my (47m) wife (46f) expects me to be her therapist. She often unloads all her problems and drama on me. I'm fine with being a safe space for her, but I have my limits.
She's had very intense periods of difficulty over 8 years we've been together, has had and lost friends, quit multiple jobs, and has had more family drama than I've seen in my lifetime.
Boundary setting has never been successful. Even under the guidance of my therapist, any strategy I've attempted has ended in me being labeled as an uncaring asshole. The arguments used to be days long and don't end until I admit guilt or apologize for starting the fight (aka attempting to set a boundary). Now I don't even attempt to set a boundary but that doesn't really do much to avoid fights. She'll find another way to poke at me until I get frustrated enough for her to feel threatened. Now when this happens I admit guilt right away knowing that the best I can do is not waste energy. If I try to be "heard" I'm told I'm gaslighting, projecting, or being defensive.
Now, what's confusing is that she seems to have an endless capacity for seeking out people that are struggling with some very real problems and being there for them, offering advice, and being a "good friend."
She'll come home and cry over it and tell me how much of a good friend she is. It almost seems like she gets off on other people's drama... But the tears are real. I'm just so confused by what I see at home and who she is in front of other people (until they disagree with her and then she abandons them).
I'm not sure what answers I expect from posting this, maybe its just a needed vent. I don't talk to my friends about this because I don't want to burden them with this drama, and my family can only hear it so much. I'm hoping writing it might help sort it out because my brain feels broken.

i think i’m depressed, like, really depressed. throughout my life i always thought i’d battled depression before but something about the way i’ve been these last 6 months is incomparable to any feelings i’ve had before. i feel like there is this giant gaping hole in my face spanning from my nose bridge down to my neck dripping out blood and mucus but whenever anybody looks at me they always just seen straight through it, never really looking at me. i suppose i should be grateful that others overlook my brazen ugliness but i can’t shake the feeling that it’s going to slither up and bite me any day now.
i don’t think i’ve had a discernible feeling in almost a year, which may sound like a comfort, but honestly i’d rather be in absolute anguish than continue on like this any longer. i try to do all the things that people to tell you to do, because contrary to my own self pity i don’t actually want to wallow in my own inadequacies. i exercise, i eat well, get out in the sun, i go for walks and talk to friends, but the feeling just seems to follow me around no matter what. i could walk as far as my feet would allow and the sea breeze would still gush through this hole in my head. just cant live with this sense of apprehension anymore.

I had a VSO rep "help me submit a claim" back in Nov / Dec 2019.
It's the dumbest thing, and so stupid. He didn't submit it. He went to fax it to the main office, and it only faxed 1 or 2 pages; did not fax completely, thus was not actually submitted. If he had been doing due diligence, working efficiently, etc he would (and should) have seen the fax error page he received, telling him to send again and it had failed (I have seen it since, it existed), or even if that hadn't been received and he didn't receive a confirmation page: he should have resubmitted my paperwork via fax, or called/ emailed to get confirmation so he knew with certainty it went through in its entirety.
I never got anything saying claim was submitted, called VA, no claim submitted, nothing from this office was sent or faxed to them regarding me.
Useless VSO ignored tf out of me. Any time I called VSO main office (prior to covid) they got my name etc and forwarded me to this douchebags voicemail, or gave me his email. No responses, zero. Absolutely ignored me for months.
Then, during covid shutdown, when calling my local VSO, they had an automated response that gave a central email address for that city's VSO/ veterans benefits office.
I spammed the ever living fuck out of it, professionally and politely spelling out that Mr. Useless had "helped me with my claim", but no matter how much I had contacted over the months, he never got back to me, and VA has nothing of what he should have submitted.
I get a generic response, then I get some higher up (at least this guy's supervisor, if not the head supervisor). He emails me and cc's Mr. Useless, assures me Mr. Useless will get back to me, address my problem.
Mr. Useless says he submitted, but will 'look into it'. Finally (but relatively quickly) gets back to me that 'oh, oops, I thought I sent it, but didn't follow up to see' as if it's all totally chill and not important and he does this all the time with people's livelihood and benefits (remind you again, I only got through to him bc the covid message, other contact info was not on a site or anything, just the number where I would get forwarded to this idiot, so who knows what other stuff falls through the cracks)
He resubmits. Makes sure he submits. Literally sends it twice to "make sure it goes through" and also submits paperwork for "Clear Unmistakable Error" to expedite it (the CUE being that he didn't do his job). Calls the Janesville office to ensure they received it.
With in a month, or under a month- bam. Got an appointment w C&P, quickly approved to 100%. I forget if it was T&P immediately or they changed it to T&P later. They backdated the benefits to when he submitted it (like the last day or second to last day of April)
But. I put for higher review, bc since it was backdated to this AH submitting it, and it was supposed to be submitted in Nov or Dec 2019, that's a little more than $5000 I feel entitled to, since that is when he should have (and told me he) submitted it.
Petty, I guess, but I'm in the kind of position where $5000 (or a little over) definitely is something to me. (had been out of work a long ass time due to disabilities, tried to work here and there, couldn't)
I feel like since they refused my first claim for higher review (which I don't understand) that I am doing something wrong, or some one who knows more and is used to dealing with them could word some argument or lay out facts better??
I have (and submitted) all correspondence with him/ them, including the fax error page that shows when unsuccessfully sent it to submit, as well as emails admitting that he should have ensured it sent, should have followed up, seen the fax failure, etc. (And I have worked office jobs in and out of the military, you always ensure faxes are sent. Simple, basic, day-1 kind of shit. This man was/ is a VA-recognized VSO, and should be someone veterans can trust with their claims.)
But, in that it's a small amount of money to most, I don't know if it's even worth it to pay for someone to help, or pay for like a lawyers help to talk to them to see if it's worth to get help.
