2023.06.08 14:33 Longjumping-Mind-545 Grammatical Changes to the Book of Mormon

"The so-called bad grammar of the original text of the Book of Mormon turns out to be acceptable usage during the 1500s and 1600s, in the period that we call Early Modern English." Royal Skousen
The church asserts that many of the changes to the Book of Mormon were simply grammatical. However, they do not mention what these changes actually were. In an article published by the Deseret News, some of the specific grammatical errors are addressed.
"Since its first publication in 1830, the Book of Mormon has been mocked for what seems to be occasionally poor English and bad grammar. In its original version, for instance, Mosiah 10:15 spoke of people who 'had arriven to the promised land'; 'they was yet wroth,' reported 1 Nephi 4:4; 'I have wrote this epistle,' said Giddianhi at 3 Nephi 3:5; 'I was a going thither,' Amulek recalled at Alma 10:8; the original version of Helaman 7:8 and 13:37 referred to events 'in them days'; and 'they done all these things,' reported Ether 9:29."
Joseph Smith changed the grammar after the publication of the first edition in 1830 for the 1837 printing of the Book of Mormon. These changes were not errors made by scribes or the typesetters. Once again, if the words appeared on a stone and were read to a scribe, no room is given for changing the grammar after it was written. If a more traditional means of translation were used (reading words in one language and translating them to a second language), there would be a stronger argument for changing the grammar at a later date.
The same Deseret News article addresses these changes.
"Virtually all, if not all, of these apparent errors have since been corrected. Indeed, many were corrected by Joseph Smith in the 1837 edition of the Book of Mormon. But they can’t be altogether hidden, and critics have made light of them for nearly two centuries. A genuinely inspired text, those detractors sniff, would have used correct grammar."
Church apologists argue that the original grammar was seen as correct in the 1500s.
"This can appear to be a pretty decisive and even embarrassing argument. But it’s not, and it needn’t be. In fact, the supposed grammatical errors may actually represent remarkable evidence for the inspiration of the Book of Mormon. What now seems bad grammar was once entirely acceptable English, even in highly educated circles — but in a period long before Smith."
Royal Skousen addresses this issue in an article published by BYU Studies:
"It turns out that Grammatical Variation is more than simply a listing of the grammatical editing in the history of the Book of Mormon. This editing, as we all know, removed what many have considered an embarrassment, namely, the nonstandard English that is found throughout the original text. Over the years, from its initial publication in 1830 to the present day, the Book of Mormon’s original nonstandard language has been interpreted as representing Joseph Smith’s own American dialect and taken as a clear sign that Joseph was indeed the author of the words of the text. But the important finding of GV is that this conclusion is not necessarily so. The so-called bad grammar of the original text of the Book of Mormon turns out to be acceptable usage during the 1500s and 1600s, in the period that we call Early Modern English."
These articles argue that this grammar was appropriate in the 1500s and is not an "embarrassing" mistake made by Joseph. This is an interesting approach. It seems curious that an ancient text translated into the 1800s would use grammar from the 1500s just to be adjusted to the standard grammar of the 1800s immediately after publication.
These were not the only grammatical changes to the Book of Mormon. A church article summarizes additional more minor changes as follows:
"Almost 4,000 editing corrections have been made to the Book of Mormon since the first publication in 1830. For example: the word which has been changed to who 891 times; was has been changed to were 162 times; and the word that has been deleted 188 times…"
I encourage you to read the apologetic response to the grammatical changes in the Book of Mormon.
Does the method of translation leave room for changes to the Book of Mormon?
Do you think that God would provide grammar from the 1500s in his 1800s translation only to have Joseph immediately change it?

I'm waiting for the right moment to deliver this line IRL. It won't make sense to anyone around me, cause I'm the only Frasier enthusiast in my circles. 2023.06.08 14:27 Open-Nothing-7862 AITA for yelling at my sister to keep her hands off my husband?

Myself and my husband (f33, m35) have been married for six years now, and I’m seven months pregnant with our first baby, which we could not be more excited about. I’ll call my husband Tony, and my sister Sharon.
Sharon is 38 and while I obviously love her she’s earned herself a pretty bad reputation amongst my family/social circle, sometimes for some offhand comments she makes but mostly for her “misbehaviour” during social events. Think heavy drinking (not that I’m judging but like way more than her limits), being rude and generally making a scene. My other siblings love her too, but they don’t have the hugest relationship with her anymore as a result of various events through the years. Honestly she doesn’t express a lot of enthusiasm for keeping in much contact with us either.
Recently, Tony and I hosted a summer garden party and despite knowing how Sharon can be, I love her and always want to keep communications open (I wouldn’t ever want her to feel unwelcome) so I sent her an invite. Even Tony expressed caution at inviting her but accepted my reasoning.
The party started around 5 so people could eat at the barbecue, and then stretched out a little later into the evening. Sharon arrived at about 8, when people were drinking and dancing. We danced for a while but I got a little too tired to keep going, and had to take a seat. Bear in mind that from the time she’d arrived Sharon had been very flirty and hands on with several male guests, including Tony.
Pretty much as soon as I’d sat down Sharon laughed and was mockingly saying “aww she’s too tired, she can’t keep up with us!” I essentially just smiled and ignored it, enjoying the chance to have a slight rest. When I looked up I saw Sharon literally dancing on Tony - imagine a girl grinding against a guy at a club. She was shrieking with laughter and Tony literally looked like he was about to die from embarrassment, as did our guests.
I jumped up and was like “WTF are you doing?”. Sharon just laughed and said “oh I’m just giving him what he’s missing what with you being pregnant”. I was hurt and asked her into the kitchen to talk and she told me to fuck off, and I can’t lie - I saw red and for the first time ever yelled at her in front of everyone that she can’t act like this anymore. She got angry and told me she didn’t see anything wrong in having a little fun with a cute guy. This is where I screamed at her that this “cute guy” was my husband and to keep her hands off him. Tony came and took me upstairs to calm down and have some water, and while that was going on Sharon left.
I felt and still feel very embarrassed for what I’d done but I truly couldn’t handle her behaviour anymore. Tony completely supports me in all this, as do my siblings but our parents and some older relatives feel that I was too harsh. On the one hand I feel justified in my actions, but I partly feel like an AH for being responsible for potentially ruining the family ties with Sharon forever.

2023.06.08 14:26 CustomWritings_CW In Pursuit of a Degree in Mechanical Engineering: The Beginning

I reckon the best way to find work is to follow your passion. Sure, we all need money to get by, but what’s the point in wasting your time on something you hate? We all know that money can’t buy happiness. It’s not just about having a cool car and tasty food every day. There are plenty of rich and famous folks who’ve struggled with addiction and even taken their own lives. That’s why I believe happiness is more about how you live each day rather than how much money you have in the bank. And let’s be real, if you’re good at what you do, the money will come eventually.

Follow your passion, whether it’s engineering or art

A true pro is someone who’s passionate about their work, no matter what it is. I’ve always been into mechanical engineering ever since I was old enough to know what it was. So, I decided to pursue it as my life’s work. I hope my experience can help others who are considering a mechanical engineering major, just like I was not long ago.

Best Colleges for Mechanical Engineering in Louisiana: Conditions to Apply

Look, I don’t wanna talk about things I don’t really know about, so let me tell you a bit about schools in Louisiana, okay? If you’re not from the Pelican State, don’t worry, you can still stick around and read this — you might pick up some generally useful tips (By the way, did you know that Louisiana is the only state in the U.S. that doesn’t have counties?). I haven’t done any research, but I believe that the requirements for applying to schools that open career paths for mechanical engineers are roughly the same in all states.
When I turned 18 and got my high school diploma, it was enough for me to get into mechanics school. According to the internet, state-issued GEDs are also acceptable, and I see no reason not to believe that. Some schools may have additional or different requirements, and as much as I hate making generalizations, let me break down those demands in detail for you.

Mechanical Engineer Degree Requirements: What You Should Know to Get Enrolled

So, what else do you need besides a high school diploma and being 18 to get into a mechanics school? Let’s take a look at some of the schools in Louisiana.
So, depending on the school you choose, you may or may not have to do a little extra work. I’ve made my shortlist of three schools and want to share it with you.

Community Colleges for the Start of Mechanical Engineering Career: Louisiana Edition

I didn’t see a problem with heading out to another town to get my mechanic degree, so I checked out schools from different parts of Louisiana.

Sowela Technical Community College

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByOWp8ApU1g
Sowela Technical College is located in Lake Charles, and it’s a small, cozy school that boasts a 100% acceptance rate (which I’m sure is a concern for many of us, right?). Their campus looks pretty impressive and modern, at least based on the pictures. Along with a high school diploma, they require the SOWELA Placement Test, which could set you back around 20 bucks. However, they also accept ACT or SAT scores instead of their specific exam. The school stresses that their test isn’t too tough, and the results are valid for several years.
According to their official website, graduates from this school can expect to earn a minimum starting salary of $28,700, which I think is pretty attractive. A good salary for the mechanical work I want to do, as I said before.

L.E. Fletcher Technical Community College

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWkHHiWCDN8
This school is located in Schriever and belongs to those pleasant places that don’t require additional tests. All it demands is that you be over 16 years old (not even 18!), provide them with proof of selective service registration, and satisfy the requirements of Louisiana immunization of persons entering school. I think that the last requirement appeared because of the pandemic we’ve been surviving over the last few years. Don’t know about you, but for me, it’s pleasant to know that the school takes care of my health.
L.E. Fletcher Technical Community College also has a 100% acceptance rate but a little bit lower starting salary for graduates, $24,400. But their campus is epic, I must say. It can be a truly good choice if you want to start your path in mechanical engineering fields early.

Northshore Technical Community College

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5KVGxKqr18
Northshore Technical Community College is in Lacombe. The acceptance rate in this school is also a pleasant 100%, and the salary of graduates starts at $21,400. To enroll, you have to complete an application, have proof of immunization, and have proof of selective service status. As you can see, this school does not mention the age of their potential students, but somehow I got the impression that they want people to be under 18. I don’t know why, but I think so. Their campus looks brand new in the pictures. It gave a similar impression to the one at Sowela Technical Community College, and it’s pretty good, I’d say. It’s definitely not the last choice for one who’s looking for colleges for mechanical engineering, as I was.

Conclusion for Your Encouragement

To be honest, I was thinking a lot about this mechanical engineering career. It seemed pretty appealing to me, but I also wondered if I really needed to go to school for it. I mean, maybe I could just have taken a year off, worked a bit, and figured out what I really wanted. But then I realized that I was just scared of rejection. I mean, so what if I got rejected? I could still take that year off to figure things out.

At the end of the day, I knew that mechanical engineering was my jam. It’s one of my biggest passions, and I knew I wanted to spend my time pursuing mechanical engineering career paths. So I took those extra tests (not gonna lie, they were a piece of cake), and I got into my top choice school!

Sorry, I’m not gonna spill the beans on which one it was, since gotta keep some mystery going. I just hope my experience can help you make the right choice for yourself.

TORONTO, June 08, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- White Gold Corp. (TSX.V: WGO, OTCQX: WHGOF, FRA: 29W ) (the "Company") is pleased to announce it has filed a technical report in accordance with National Instrument 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects to update the Mineral Resource Estimate (“MRE”) on its 100% owned flagship White Gold Project (“the Project”). The technical report entitled “2023 Technical Report for the White Gold Project, Dawson Range, Yukon, Canada” and dated May 30, 2023 (effective date April 15, 2023) has been prepared for the Company by Dr. Gilles Arseneau, P.Geo. of ARSENEAU Consulting Services Inc. (“ACS”). The technical report is available on SEDAR (www.sedar.com) under the Company’s issuer profile.
The Project is located approximately 95 km south of Dawson City in west-central Yukon, Canada, and comprises 16 million tonnes averaging 2.23 g/t Au for 1,152,900 ounces of gold in the Indicated Resource category and 19 million tonnes averaging 1.54 g/t Au for 942,400 ounces of gold in the Inferred Resource category. Gold mineralization at the project remains open for expansion along strike and at depth, and opportunities exist to upgrade a significant portion of Inferred Resources to Indicated. Exploration programs supporting the MRE have been backed by partners Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (TSX: AEM, NYSE: AEM) and Kinross Gold Corporation (TSX: K, NYSE: KGC).
“We are very pleased with the significant increase in our mineral resources, which remains open for expansion, ranking the White Gold Project amongst the largest primarily open pit deposits at such high grades in Canada owned by an exploration company. We look forward to continuing exploration on our district scale land package in the prolific White Gold District which hosts several multi-million-ounce deposits along with an extensive history of placer gold production. This updated and increased resource is a testament to the success of our technical team and the effectiveness of our systematic data driven exploration methodologies in exploring and demonstrating the expansiveness of gold mineralization in the White Gold District,” stated David D’Onofrio, CEO.
Highlights:
  • Updated MRE includes four gold deposits (Figures 1-5) – Golden Saddle, Arc, Ryan’s Surprise and VG, within 12 km of each other, and comprises:
    • 16.11 million tonnes of Indicated Resources averaging 2.23 grams per tonne gold for 1.153 million ounces of gold, representing 55% of total resources.
    • 18.99 million tonnes of Inferred Resources averaging 1.54 grams per tonne gold for 0.942 million ounces of gold, representing 45% of total resources.
  • Updated MRE includes a maiden resource estimate for the Ryan’s Surprise deposit with an Inferred Resource of 227,700 ounces of gold averaging 1.97 grams per tonne gold.
  • The Ryan’s Surprise deposit is located 1.5 km west of the Golden Saddle and Arc deposits, and along the Ryan’s Trend, a 6.5 km long gold-arsenic geochemical anomaly which hosts additional prospective gold targets.
  • Inferred Mineral Resources have increased by 41% compared to previous MRE’s for the Golden Saddle and Arc deposits (
in 2020 and the VG deposit (2) in 2021.
  • 94% of the resources are near surface, with open-pittable Indicated Resources of 1.125 million ounces of gold averaging 2.20 grams per tonne gold and open-pittable Inferred Resources of 0.853 million ounces of gold averaging 1.46 grams per tonne gold.
  • Mineralization remains open along strike and down dip, with opportunities to further expand and upgrade resources in addition to multiple underexplored targets in close proximity to the deposits.
  • The Company is currently planning its fully funded 2023 exploration program, focusing on recent high-grade gold discoveries and undrilled targets with details to be announced in due course.

Mineral Resource Estimate Details
https://preview.redd.it/dijtia13fs4b1.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=c4314c7da62d6c628e7201cf129b14de57c9a5f5
Mineral Resources which are not Mineral Reserves do not have demonstrated economic viability. 2) The estimate of Mineral Resources may be materially affected by environmental, permitting, legal, title, taxation, socio-political, marketing, or other relevant issues.
3) The Inferred Mineral Resource in this estimate has a lower level of confidence than that applied to an Indicated Mineral Resource and must not be converted to a Mineral Reserve. It is reasonably expected that the majority of the Inferred Mineral Resource could be upgraded to an Indicated Mineral Resource with continued exploration.
4) The Mineral Resources in this report were estimated using the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), CIM Standards on Mineral Resources and Reserves, Definitions and Guidelines prepared by the CIM Standing Committee on Reserve Definitions and adopted by the CIM Council.
5) Open pittable resources are constrained by GEOVIA Whittle optimized pit shells using a 0.4 g/t Au cut-of grade and are considered to have reasonable prospects for eventual economic extraction, assuming a gold price of US$1,800 per ounce, a C$:US$ exchange rate of 0.75. an open pit mining cost of CDN$3.25 per tonne, a processing and G&A cost of CDN$27.50 per tonne milled, and gold recoveries of 92% for Golden Saddle, and VG, along with 85% for Arc and Ryan’s Surprise. Underground resources assume a mining cost of CDN$120/tonne.
6) The following bulk density values for mineralized material were used: Golden Saddle (2.62 – 2.65 t/m 3 ), Arc (2.55 t/m 3 ), Ryan’s Surprise (2.63 t/m 3 ) and VG (2.65 t/m 3 ).
7) High-grade gold assay values have been capped as follows: Golden Saddle and Arc (8 – 18 g/t Au), Ryan’s Surprise (9 g/t Au) and VG (3 – 10 g/t Au).
8) The Statement of Estimates of Mineral Resources has been compiled by Mr. Gilles Arseneau, Ph.D.,P.Geo, of ARSENEAU Consulting Services (“ACS”). Mr. Arseneau has sufficient experience that is relevant to the style of mineralization and type of deposit under consideration and to the activity that he has undertaken to qualify as a Qualified Person as defined in the CIM Standards of Disclosure.
9) All numbers are rounded. Overall numbers may not be exact due to rounding.
Mineralization on portions of both the Golden Saddle and Arc deposits is known to extend beyond the limits of the current resource estimate, however, the mineralization in these areas does not currently meet the criteria to be classified as Mineral Resources. Based on drilling at Golden Saddle and current geologic models, there is an estimated 10 – 12 million additional tonnes grading between 1 – 2 g/t Au of material classified as a Target for Further Exploration (“TFFE”). The reader should be cautioned that the potential quantity and grade of the TFFE is conceptual in nature. There has been insufficient drilling to define a mineral resource and it is uncertain if further exploration will result in the target being advanced to a mineral resource.
The current MRE for the Project was carried out by Arseneau Consulting Services (“ACS”) of Vancouver, B.C. and is reported in accordance with the guidelines of the Canadian Securities Administrators National Instrument 43-101 (“NI 43-101”) and has been estimated in conformity with generally accepted Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (“CIM”) “Estimation and Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve Best Practices” guidelines. Mineral resources are not mineral reserves and do not have demonstrated economic viability.
The MRE presents updated estimates for the Golden Saddle and Arc deposits and the VG deposit, and a maiden estimate for the Ryan’s Surprise deposit. The MRE incorporates all diamond and reverse circulation (“RC”) drilling data completed by White Gold Corp. and previous property owners.
Further details on the updated MRE are provided in a Company news release dated April 25, 2023.
Qualified Persons, Technical Information and Quality Control
The MRE for the White Gold Project was prepared by Dr. Gilles Arseneau of Arseneau Consulting Services (ACS), an Independent Qualified Person (“QP”) as defined under NI 43-101, who has reviewed and approved the contents of this news release. The technical content of this news release has also been reviewed and approved by Terry Brace, P.Geo. and Vice President of Exploration for the Company who is also a QP as defined under NI 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure of Mineral Projects.
QA/QC
White Gold’s drill core sampling consisted of collecting samples over 0.50 m to 2.50 m intervals (depending on lithology and style of mineralization) over the entire hole length. RC samples were collected at continuous 1.5 m intervals. All drill core was cut in half using a diamond saw, with half of the core placed in sample bags and the other half returned to the core box. Standard, blank, and duplicate samples were inserted into both the drill core and RC sample streams at regular intervals to meet a designated QA/QC sample insertion rate. All samples were organized into batches, flown via fixed-wing aircraft from camp, and transported via courier to an ISO-certified laboratory for analysis.

2023.06.08 14:24 BOSS_jack315 NAAS Technology Inc.(NASDAQ: NAAS): the "invisible hub" of the charging market

From a start-up company providing industry-level solutions for the electric vehicle charging market to becoming one of the largest and fastest-growing electric vehicle charging service providers in China, it only took 3 years for NAAS. In 2019, NAAS was established in Anji, Zhejiang, the birthplace of the concept of "Green waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets". The efficient utilization of energy has become an important path for China to adjust its energy structure and achieve "carbon neutrality".

With the listing on NASDAQ in June 2022, becoming the first stock in China's charging service, the business model of NAAS has begun to be seen by more people - by providing online charging operators and electric vehicle owners It provides charging solutions and non-electric value-added services, and serves charging pile manufacturers, OEMs and other industry partners. It is committed to making electric vehicle charging faster, better experience, and making all parties in the industry chain operate more efficiently.

But efficiency is not empty talk. How can we connect the entire charging market without our own charging station? The answer is the power of digitization. With the support of big data, from an operator who wants to start building a station, to site selection consultation, purchase piles and electricity, to EPC general contracting, operation and maintenance, to station management, insurance, unmanned retail in the station, self-service car wash, etc. For non-electric services, NAAS can provide one-stop solutions, and finally build a charging service network to connect operators with online platforms such as AutoNavi Maps and Kuaidian. At present, head charging operators such as State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, Xingxing Charge, and Telecom have all become partners of NAAS.

2023.06.08 14:24 According-Bowler-855 Need extra $1k-$2k for next few months. Advice on temp work?

(throwaway account, for reasons)
For personal reasons, I need extra money, about $1k-$2k for the next six months (through the end of the year). I'm not looking for a career change, but something I can pick up and put down easily but will give me the $ I need to move on.
Complications:
I've got a master's degree and a lot of job experience in document/information management, and if I could roll a consulting a job I would, but as I said, not really looking for a career change anyway and I don't own any good biz suits anymore.
I've looked at sites like upwork and fiverr, but the gigs there pay crap unless you've already been hustling there for a couple of years, as far as I can tell. Unless I've overlooked something? Also checked out places like UserTesting, and they seem good for making enough to cover a few bills, but not what I need (I applied anyway). Unless there is one out there paying really well, which I doubt.
So just throwing this out here, because I know you all are good with the advice (I have belonged to this sub for awhile under another account, but did not want to show up with that one.) Thanks!

2023.06.08 14:23 NewMediaWave What would it take for Joe List to breakthrough to that next tier?

I think one way for Joe List to breakthrough is via the sports angle. He's a hilarious, Boston sports fan. He could do more stuff with Bar Stool, The Ringer, or even start his own podcast? The big get? Do a Boston sports podcast with Bill Burr. That would be a massive hit, and I don't even think it would take much prep. Those guys watch like every Bruins, Red Sox, Pats games.
Out of his inner circle, Joe seems to be the most focused on having a balance in his life. Mark was doing appearances on no-name podcasts, like seriously Youtubers with less than 1000 subscribers, when he was a bona fide headliner. But maybe with the kid on the way, Joe might want to build a serious nest egg for his family.
Joe List is probably in the top 1% of comedians in terms of success, so I'm not trying denigrate his career at all. I just think he's so talented that there's a next level for him.

2023.06.08 14:21 KFlaxmanSSPSSR Are Mood Apps the Future of Happiness?

Hello people of selfhelp!
My name is Kayleigh Flaxman, and I am a Researcher at the University of Kent conducting research on how people use ‘Mood apps’ (e.g. Daylio, Woebot and the like), what sort of relationships develop with these technologies, and how these apps change or do not change people’s relationships with their emotions. This project is being run by Dr. Vincent Miller at the University of Kent in the United Kingdom.
We are looking for mood app users to interview, as we believe that these apps are a potentially important new technology that opens up many interesting questions around mental health, emotions and technology, and we think that the best way to understand this is by talking to the people who use these technologies about their experiences.
What is this project about?
People are increasingly concerned about mental health issues, and mood apps have become an accessible way to gain some mental health support for many. Thus, it is important to study these new technologies not only to see if they help, but also to see how they are used to manage emotional well-being, and what sort of relationships are developing between people and these technologies. Right now, there is little information on, for example, how mood apps might change the way people think about their emotions.
This study ‘Emotional technologies of the self’’ aims to address some of these questions. It is part of a research project funded by the University of Kent and has been approved by the University’s Research Ethics Committee.
If I take part, what do I have to do?
If you would like to take part, please contact me by email or private message and we can arrange a mutually convenient time for a video interview call. The interview will be conducted by me and will take around one hour. I will ask you about you and your experiences with Mood apps, how you use them, what affects they might have had.
Participation is voluntary (this is not a paid study), you can change your mind and end the interview at any time. Before deciding, it is important that you understand what this study is about and what will happen if you agree to take part, so will be provided with a project information sheet in advance so you know exactly what to expect, and how we will treat any information you give us.
Want to participate?
If you would like to take part in this study or simply find out more, please contact me through private message, or email me at [email protected]
Thank you for your time, I hope you will consider taking part.

2023.06.08 14:16 Joshua31704 I [19M] broke up with my girlfriend [18F] of 4 months mainly because of her love for k-pop.

Just to clarify, I never had a problem with the idea of her being a fan of k-pop. What I didn’t like is how she was inappropriate about it.
When we first started dating, she was really into k-pop bands whether that be boys or girls and I didn’t really mind. I followed women on instagram that are really well dressed but I was very respectful about that. One day, she said to me that she was going to a concert with them and her mom asked if I could go. My girlfriend said no because “she wouldn’t be able to make her jokes about fucking them.” I was pretty disturbed by this because at least to me, that is something very disrespectful to say to your partner in a relationship. I spoke to her about it and it was pretty clear that she was very sorry and truly didn’t mean to upset me so I sort of let it off because I say things I don’t mean at times as well.
Unfortunately though, I couldn’t let it off. It was something that always sort of stuck in the back of my mind. She would continue to fangirl over the k-pop bands which is perfectly okay. It’s just that what she said prior and her actions towards them upset me at times. One time she was replying to this erotic comment on her instagram and she stated that she would bark at them as well. I was a bit startled by this too considering how erotic the original comment was and the fact that she said she would bark to them too made me think she would act in such intimate way as well. I confronted her about it and she said it was just a thing fans do but she was sorry about it because it looked bad without any context. She also said that after being with me, she stopped caring about the boy bands and that she doesn’t find them as attractice as I am and doesn’t sexualize them anymore. With that said, I just continued on in life.
Well, that is to say that after 4 months I realized that I would be insecure and have anxiety about her hobby after everything she said. I didn’t want her to give up her hobby. It was just something I could not deal with. We had a talk about it and I spoke about the times where I had these thoughts in my head which made me feel horrible because it would be unfair for the both of us. She apologized for the way she made me feel and she didn’t want this to end consdering that I am the only guy who has treated her right. I loved her too but I just knew I wouldn’t be able to get past my negative thoughts about her hobby and I didn’t want to control her or anything of the sort.
So I asked a question that I’d say is like, really insecure. I felt like an asshole about asking the question but I did so anyways. I asked her, “if I didn’t want you to go take a picture with one of the male idols, would you still do it?” Now normally, I would be okay with this. Unfortunately because of her past with sexualizing her hobby, I just felt really uncomfortable. I felt like an asshole and controlling by asking that. She said, “I can understand why you’d be uncomfortable but it would really suck for me since I’m a big fan of them.” I suppose this message really sucked for me because I was going to take away what made her happy for my own sake. Despite her pleads not to, I ended the relationship. I didn’t want to take away her hobby. I didn’t want to continue to feel the way I did.
I understand that the main problem here is my insecurity. While I did want the relationship, I was just unable to forgive what she said at the start. I think I did what was best for both of us but I feel like my insecurity made me an asshole. I’m sure there was something I could have done to make us work. Thoughts?

2023.06.08 14:14 tarquynn Mini Rant.

Through the forums I found how to track my truck on a rail car. It had been sitting at the Delaware rail yard for 1.5 weeks. During that time I got regular updates on other fords being transported from that yard to my dealer. Called ford Monday. They told me "great news, looks like it's scheduled to be delivered to your dealership Wednesday at 630 pm". Tuesday, I wait patiently. Wednesday I check my status. The delivery date is now pushed 2 weeks with a 2 week window. WTF???? I called the dealer who said they never saw anything like it. A forum buddy got me the rail car # which I tracked on Norfolk Southern. The rail phone number says its now in central PA. The United tracking site says its still in DE and inactive. Gonna call ford later today for about explanation but like, WTF!!! No one knows what's happening, my truck is built, and it's taking a month long tour of the east coast???
Aaaaaaggggghhhhh.

2023.06.08 14:11 shaydee11 Anime with an atypical MC

Looking for anime where the MC isn't a ultra-pure-hearted / save-the-world / die-for-others type
I got tired of this in Naruto, and its present in a bunch of others as well - Deku, Gon, Subaru (re:zero), Hinata Shoyo, Tanjiro, Tohru (Fruits basket), Yukihira, and so on. Honorable mentions would be Mob, Gintoki, Itadori, etc
These were decent watch, but I'm looking for a change of pace now. I've watched and highly rate anime like Code geass, Monster, Link click, Parasyte! and even comedy like Konosuba, Saiki-K, Grand-blue!!
Please help me with something with a strong MC but not the typical one. Bonus points for MC who is flawed like Lelouch vi Britannia

2023.06.08 14:09 aaronrjackson Apple Savings Advice

Sorry in advance if this has been posted before, but after spending 4 hours on the phone with about a dozen different people I'm hoping someone here has a solution.
I have been transferring money over to my Apple Savings because, well, 4.15% is a hell of a lot more than .05 which is what my current savings gives me. I'm able to send money from my local bank to the Apple Savings. Yesterday however I wanted to test how easy it would be to send it back. When I went to withdraw it said I had to call customer support to verify my account. No problem I thought. I get on the phone with support, give them my bank's phone number, and that's when it all went south.
My bank wouldn't verify info with the Goldman Sach's rep over the phone. So I called my bank and started the process through them. My bank calls Goldman, I'm on hold for 20 minutes, they both come back on at the same time and are arguing with each other. You see, Goldman Sachs will only accept phone verification on bank accounts on OUTGOING phone calls. My bank will accept a variety of options but when it comes to over the phone they will only accept OUTGOING calls. After laughing at the situation for a good two minutes I simply said "Well I am the account holder and I verify both of you". Surprisingly that didn't work. The Apple savings lady suggested that maybe if one of them were to have the call "drop out" they could call me back thus making both calls outgoing with me merging. Neither of their managers viewed that as a reasonable solution though.
So, to recap TLDR;
I'm in a verification circle from hell where both Apple Savings and my local bank will only accept OUTGOING phone calls for verification status. Since by the very nature of a phone call one person has to be incoming I do not see a way to fix this. Thoughts?
For what it's worth I can simply call my local bank, tell them my account info, and they will withdraw all my money from Apple Savings any time I desire. So my money is not entirely stuck. In 2023 I'd just like to have the option of handling it myself through the app.

2023.06.08 14:09 NASDQplayer97 CapitalGainsReport: Bounce Play Watchlist (EPAZ,

Epazz, Inc. (OTC:EPAZ). EPAZ is a mission-critical provider of drone technology, blockchain mobile apps, and cloud-based business software solutions.
Throughout this spring, EPAZ and their spinoff company, ZenaDrone, have been making significant strides with their flagship product, the ZenaDrone 1000. This advanced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has garnered substantial interest from various sectors, positioning Epazz as a rising stock in the industry.
In March 2023, ZenaDrone, Inc., received a letter of support from the U.S. Air Force, solidifying the drone's potential for drone cargo delivery, including critical blood transport. The U.S. Air Force invited ZenaDrone to conduct tests at an overseas base under battlefield conditions, showcasing the drone's capabilities in a military environment. This milestone not only attracted attention from the U.S. Air Force but also caught the interest of the U.S. Army.
The successful presentation of the ZenaDrone 1000 at the AERO General Aviation Convention in Friedrichshafen, Germany, in April further bolstered its reputation. This exposure resulted in multiple scheduled demonstrations with NATO partner countries, law enforcement departments, and a prominent German rail line. In addition, ZenaDrone's engagement with German UAV regulators for beyond-visual-line-of-sight operations also demonstrates the company's commitment to staying ahead of industry standards and expanding its market reach.
In another update, EPAZ announced a meeting with Ossian Smyth, minister of state at the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform of Ireland, at ZenaDrone's offices in Dublin. ZenaDrone is currently in negotiations with a financing institution for a deal to purchase up to 100 ZenaDrone 1000s, paving the way for drone-as-a-service operations in Ireland, which could prove to be a lucrative opportunity for the company.
Something that could help with a rebound is that EPAZ is not only focused on the drone technology itself but also on key supporting components. The company has been actively filing patents for its artificial intelligence (AI)-based drone technology, with two patents already granted and two others under review with the US Patent Office.
In line with their commitment to innovative technologies, EPAZ recently formed Galaxy Batteries Inc., a subsidiary dedicated to housing their battery technology intellectual property. The company's high-powered battery solutions are essential for running specialized devices and aircraft. EPAZ is evaluating opportunities to monetize these technologies and provide additional value to the company.
Epazz's strategic updates this spring, including securing military interest, expanding international partnerships, and advancing patent filings, could make them a compelling investment prospect.
As EPAZ continues to develop and commercialize cutting-edge drone technology and battery solutions, investors may want to keep an eye on Epazz, Inc. (OTC: EPAZ) for potential opportunities within the ever-growing drone industry.
GALAXY NEXT GENERATION (OTC: GAXY)
GAXY is a leading provider of interactive learning technology solutions and school communication platforms. With over 22 resellers across the United States, the company serves the commercial and educational markets. The K-12 education segment accounts for nearly 90% of Galaxy's sales.
Latest Contract Win on June 6: Galaxy recently secured a significant contract worth a minimum of $200,000 from a prominent school district in Northeast Ohio. The contract involves supplying G2 Bell, Paging, Intercom, and Clock (BPIC) hardware, along with G2 Communicator software, to five schools within the district. Implementation is expected to take place over the next few weeks, marking a promising growth opportunity for Galaxy.
Q3 FY 2023 Earnings Highlights from June 1: In its recent earnings report for Q3 FY 2023, Galaxy showcased progress. Revenues climbed quarter over quarter, rising from approximately $430,000 in the three months ending December 2022 to around $657,000 in the three months ending March 2023. Notably, G&A expenses decreased from roughly $1.5 million to approximately $670,000, resulting in a significant improvement in net loss.
Strategic Partnerships Fuel Growth: Galaxy's recent partnerships with major audiovisual (AV) dealers have been instrumental in driving sales growth. With a pipeline exceeding $5 million and several upcoming opportunities, Galaxy is capitalizing on their expanded product portfolio. The company expects this shift towards higher-margin products to substantially improve profit margins and contribute to the company's performance.
